About

Hi. I’m Jacob Lloyd. This site started as my laser cutting and engraving blog — projects, settings, and guides from my own shop, written up with enough detail to duplicate them. For a stretch I had bigger creator plans (there was a Patreon once; it’s no longer active). Life moved on and the posting pace didn’t survive, but the site did.

What the site is now

  • A laser archive that still works. The settings that cut clean acrylic in 2024 cut clean acrylic today. The material settings, project write-ups, and files are all still here, free.
  • An active local-AI section. My hobby drifted from lasers to running LLMs, agents, and image generation on my own hardware, and the newer posts follow that — same format, real settings, real gotchas.
  • Maintained by the thing it writes about. The site is plain static files hosted on DreamHost, rebuilt from Markdown, and maintained with OpenClaw — a local AI agent stack running on a mini PC in my house. A scheduled job reviews and refreshes the AI articles, and every publish goes through a gated, backed-up deploy. The rebuild story is in WordPress to static, with Claude Code, and how the agents publish safely has the details.

Contact and support

  • Email: Lloyd@LaserLloyd.com — I read it, though not always quickly.
  • Support: if a guide here saved you time, there’s a PayPal coffee button. No Patreon, no tiers.

Everything here is free for your use. If something you found here saved your project, that’s the whole point.
